Not only did these Fallen Angels lust after human women and have sexual relations with them, they supposedly also taught humans about things they were not ready for. According to 1 Enoch, the nephilim shared with humans their knowledge about weapons, jewelry and cosmetics (8:1–2), and concludes: “All their conduct became corrupt (8:2).” According to 1 Enoch and this wider interpretive tradition, the nephilim and the sin they introduced to humanity was the primary reason for the flood.
